My love of preparing food began very early when I lived in an ingredient only home. Coming home from school, with no pre-packaged snacks, led to creative ways to fill my belly.
All through college I enjoyed cooking and having people over to try new recipes. After college I trained with a Master Chef and worked as a sous chef for several years with 10+ years experience in professional kitchens and catering.
When feeding my family of 5, it was super important to me that we gather around the table each night -this is where connection happens. One of my favorite things to do as the mom, was making a meal plan for the week. I had vegetarians, vegans, and meat lovers to consider. Even though this girl was on a budget with no time for fussy recipes, I would try to make at least one new recipe each week. Needless to say, my kiddos are adventurous eaters as adults and can all cook pretty well.
During COVID, I began cooking for friends and really enjoyed being able to provide good healthy meals. Around this time I came across a colorful image online that said, "What makes your soul happy? Do that!" Well, it made me think. I am really happy when I am creating something delicious to share, so the logical step was to figure out how to do that on a bigger scale. In October of 2020, I established Happy Soul Kitchens.
I love learning about food almost as much as I love cooking. With a certification in Holistic NutritionI I have learned to make meals that not only taste good but are good for you!
After many requests for meal planning ideas, I have moved in that direction. And now I am here to offer all of what I know and practice to you!
